The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and the Federal Government are not reaching up to any solid agreement and this is a clear indication that the strike is probably not going to end soon. ASUU, through its national president, Abiodun Ogunyemi, explained that the reasons why they embarked on a strike are because of poor funding of universities in the country and the refusal of the government to honour an agreement it entered into with the union through the signing of a memorandum of understanding, MoU, in 2017.
